Always a bit different

In the same way every child is unique so are their mummas.
Different is definitely one word you could use to describe me. Its taken me to turning 40 to realise that standing out from the pack is a good thing, the best actually.

I am well aware I don't know everything and that's OK. But please don't tell kids that. I am trying to cultivate a mummy knows all understanding.

Oh by the way kids did eat their dinner which was nothing short of miraculous. Some might call having a fussy eater daughter might be considered karma. I lived on Vegemite sandwiches and pasta with butter for most of my childhood. A bitter disappointment for an Italian mother let me tell you.

I came to this motherhood journey a little later than most. I had my first child at 35 and second at 38. I am so lucky to have been able to fall pregnant. As much as being a mum is the most challenging thing I have ever done , it is by far the most rewarding.

I have entered a new phase in parenting. Miss E started school this year. A big prep girl. When did this happen? One minute I was deep in the midst of teething horrors and the next thing my beautiful girl developed a darling kick arse attitude and penchant for talking back.

May need therapy when the teen years hit.

Its pretty late, at least by my standards. Off to bed for this tired mumma.

till next time peeps
